Eye witnesses who assembled at Amassoma to pay their tribute to the
Late Alamieyeseigha had to run helter-skelter to seek refuge from the
rains, which was unrelenting.Speaking after the funeral ceremony, one of the eye witnesses at the ceremony told NAIJ.com on the condition of anonymity: “The rain didn’t help matters, but I have always known Alamieyeseigha to be the rain man.
“I can remember when he was presented to us as our first civilian governor in 1999; he was addressing the people and prayed that peace be restored back to our lands. That was the period when there was crisis in Bayelsa. When Late Alamieyeseigha raised a matchet, signifying the end of the crisis, an heavy rain all of sudden began. It was surprising to see but he has always been the rain man and we will miss him.”
